Pulse Mgmt's Erin Cummins, from Washington, getting ready to take on the WORLD! GO GIRL!
Times of Beauty.com Interview
The United States, with its large size, includes most climate types and a diverse geography. The coastal plain of the Atlantic seaboard gives way further inland to deciduous forests and the rolling hills of the Piedmont. The Appalachian Mountains divide the eastern seaboard from the Great Lakes and the grasslands of the Midwest. The Mississippi–Missouri River, the world's fourth longest river system, runs mainly north–south through the heart of the country. The flat, fertile prairie of the Great Plains stretches to the west, interrupted by a highland region in the southeast. The Rocky Mountains, at the western edge of the Great Plains, extend north to south across the country, reaching altitudes higher than 4,300 m in Colorado. Farther west are the rocky Great Basin and deserts such as the Mojave. The Sierra Nevada and Cascade mountain ranges run close to the Pacific coast. At 6,194 m, Alaska's Mount McKinley is the tallest peak in the country and in North America. Active volcanoes are common throughout Alaska's Alexander and Aleutian Islands, and Hawaii consists of volcanic islands. The supervolcano underlying Yellowstone National Park in the Rockies is the continent's largest volcanic feature.
The United States debuted in Miss World 1951 and produced three winners: Marjorie Wallace (1973), Gina Tolleson (1990) and Alexandria Mills (2010). This year Erin Cummins, US Miss World 2011, will represent her nation in Miss World 2011

2011 Meet the Misses v.60 - US Miss World 2011
The United States is a federal constitutional republic comprising fifty states, a federal district, and several territories in the Pacific and Caribbean. It is the world’s sole superpower and the leading economic, political, and cultural force in the world. At 9.83 million square kilometers and with over 312 million people, the United States is the third largest country by total area and population. It is one of the world's most ethnically diverse and multicultural nations. The U.S. economy is the world's largest national economy. The United States was founded by thirteen British colonies located along the Atlantic seaboard. On July 4, 1776, they issued the Declaration of Independence, which proclaimed their right to self-determination and their establishment of a cooperative union. The rebellious states defeated the British Empire in the American Revolution, the first successful colonial war of independence. The current United States Constitution was adopted on September 17, 1787; its ratification the following year made the states part of a single republic with a strong central government. The Bill of Rights, comprising ten constitutional amendments guaranteeing many fundamental civil rights and freedoms, was ratified in 1791. The United States is officially a secular nation; the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees the free exercise of religion and forbids the establishment of any religious governance. The United States capital is Washington, D.C. The country is home to three of the Top 10 Global Cities: New York at #1, Chicago at #6 and Los Angeles at #7.
The original thirteen states were the successors of the thirteen colonies that rebelled against British rule. Early in the country's history, three new states were organized on territory separated from the claims of the existing states: Kentucky from Virginia; Tennessee from North Carolina; and Maine from Massachusetts. Most of the other states have been carved from territories obtained through war or purchase by the U.S. government. One set of exceptions comprises Vermont, Texas, and Hawaii: each was an independent republic before joining the union. During the American Civil War, West Virginia broke away from Virginia. The most recent state, Hawaii, achieved statehood on August 21, 1959. The states do not have the right to secede from the union. The United States, with its large size, includes most climate types and a diverse geography. The Times of Beauty proudly presents Erin Cummins, US Miss World 2011, in an exclusive interview for our interview series, Meet the Misses.
1. Give us an introduction of yourself.
Hello! My name is Erin Cummins. I come from a small town in Washington State. I'm 19 years old and come from a large family with 4 sisters and 3 brothers, they mean everything to me! I have been a professional model for the past 2 years and I try to live my life to the fullest extent!
2. Tell us a bit more about your country and hometown.
America is the land of the free and the home of the brave! Where people have the opportunity to live their dreams. My hometown Arlington has a lot of farmland and is close to the Pacific Ocean with breathtaking mountain views everywhere you look.
3. What does it mean to you to represent your country at the 61st Miss World finals?
It is such an honor! Its really an incredible and humbling experience that I get to teach the world about my country. I'm proud to be an American and couldn't have asked for a better way to represent the USA. Miss World can and does make such a positive difference worldwide and I'm so thankful to be a part of it.
4. If you have to choose a song to describe yourself, which would you choose and why?
Hakuna Matata. It means no worries! From the Disney movie The Lion King, my favorite movie when I was a child. I'm a very worry-free person with a positive attitude so it fits perfectly!
5. How would you describe a typical day in your life?
My days vary from relaxing at home with my friends and family to running around in a city from casting to casting. One of my daily activities include working out and I like to wind down at the end of the day by watching a movie.
6. Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
10 years from now I see myself continuing this journey with new and exciting adventures while still growing and learning in a place I love with a successful career.
7. Which well known person from your country you most admire and why?
Oprah Winfrey. Well known for her talk show about literature, self-improvement, and spirituality, she is one of the most influential woman in the world. Oprah has been repeatedly ranked as the most philanthropic celebrity. She has created many charities, and does whatever she can to help the less fortunate around the world.
8. If you had to choose any other country to live in, which one would you choose and why?
America will always be home to me but if I had to choose it would have to be France or Australia. I love the seaside in France and it is close to other countries. Australia has such beautiful scenery with the worlds largest coral reef, as I have a big interest in marine biology.
9. What do you think is the worst kind of human injustice or prejudice happening now?
In my opinion, there is no such thing as the "worst". They are all wrong and I am completely against anything that involves human injustice and prejudice.
10. What are your duties as US Miss World 2011?
As Miss United States, I think it is my duty to lead with a positive example and to be the best role model I can be while inspiring the younger generation and my country. I want to make America proud!
11. What role can social media (ex. Facebook, Twitter, etc) play in the life of a beauty pageant titleholder?
Social media can play a great role as it gives fans a chance to support a pageant titleholder and be informed with instant information.
12. What does it mean to be a human being?
I believe that it is our duty as human beings to treat everyone equally and with respect, to be there for others in need, be yourself, and enjoy the quality of life.
13. What do you feel is your purpose in life?
I think the whole journey and meaning of life is to find your purpose. I try to be the best person I can be, keeping others in mind to help anyone that needs it along the way. There is no better feeling than making someone happy.
