We are thrilled to see these tear sheets from Elle Japan's Holiday Gift Guide. Our very own, Olivia Hamilton, got some prime placement in this publication, and she looks amazing! A-MAY-ZING!!! This was one of the 41 jobs that Olivia did while she was in Tokyo. Elle Magazine is one of the most successful fashion magazines on the planet, and we are thrilled that their Japanese magazine loves Olivia as much as we do! You can click on each of the above pictures to see a larger version. We still have plenty more to post about Olivia's modeling work from Japan that is still being published, so stay tuned...

Liz is Jetting Off to...
Pulse Management's rising star, Liz Kennedy, headed off to Tokyo yesterday! This Minnesotan had a lot to do before she left, so it looks like she combined her walking in heels practice with packing. Way to multitask. This is Liz's first international trip for modeling (keep in mind we discovered her only a few months ago), so I texted her mom to see how she was holding up. Liz is traveling with a family friend because both of her parents were unable to accompany her (with jobs and other kids at home, finding a guardian can be tricky sometimes). This is what her mom texted me:
"I'm sitting in Minnesota as my daughter is on a plane flying halfway around the world. It is still hard to believe! Liz has the support of so many friends, family, her mother agency Pulse Mgmt and Stacey Eastman, and her other agencies. We are all rooting for her and wish her the best in Tokyo! We wouldn't be here without Pulse and Stacey, and wouldn't want to be. We love you guys!"
We love Liz, Jen and their whole family, and we can't wait to keep you all posted about the amazing things Liz does while in Tokyo!

MAJOR MOMENT MONDAY: Tori Praver's Vogue Cover
For today's MAJOR MOMENT MONDAY, we are revisiting when Tori Praver was solo on the cover of Russian Vogue. For any model, a Vogue cover is the ultimate job, and it is even sweeter when you are the only model on the cover.
We discovered Tori in her home state, Hawaii, and she went on to do some amazing things. She modeled for Victoria's Secret, Guess, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and many other high profile jobs. These days Tori is a swimwear designer and a mother, who still models from time to time.

The Reality of Being a Model
This week Pulse Management's Armon Eastman had a taste of disappointment that all models face at one point or another. As you may have read on our blog (or other social media), Armon is beginning his modeling career and has already had some amazing experiences. From test shoots in LA and New York, to meeting with one of the best fashion photographers (Steven Meisel), to being placed on option for Prada and Burberry, Armon's career took off faster than a lot of models. Armon was recently informed that he was released from being on option from Burberry and Prada. Obviously that is not what any model wants to hear, but we thought we would take this moment to have some honest dialogue about what it is like working as a model.
The fashion industry is a mercurial one, and any model will tell you they have had their fair share of disappointments along with their successes. The very fact that Armon was placed on option for two of the biggest designers on the planet, speaks volumes about his potential as a model. The fact that he was released on option does not mean that he did anything wrong or that there is anything wrong with him. I REPEAT THIS TO ALL MODELS, just because you do not book a job does not mean you are ugly or a bad model, or not good enough. It means the companies had something else in mind for their project, and a lot of the time the reasons are beyond your control. In Armon's case it was because he is too young. Other times it is because a model is too tall, too short, too blonde, not blonde enough, teeth too straight, or not straight enough, the reasons are endless.
Pulse Management President, Stacey Eastman, is not only Armon's manager, he is Armon's father. This has given us a unique perspective into how this business can affect our models. Stacey said the following about this situation:
"I feel I need to post this due to my son being released on option for Burberry & Prada. Due to all the excitement we had about him being placed on those options, we posted about those on our social media. To put it into perspective, in our world option means that those prestigious clothing companies PICKED him out of thousands of guys and chose to put him on "option" to walk wearing their clothing. Which is why we said "option" MIND YOU IT USUALLY NEVER HAPPENS THAT FAST FOR A NEW MODEL. We use that to gauge the potential of their carrier and that is massive. He was released from the "OPTION" only due to being so "NEW" so "YOUNG" even though we feel bad it didn't confirm at the last second is sad. None the less it's miraculous such designers wanted him exclusively till the very last second and then released him. For sure this tells us ITS NOT IF THIS KID'S GOING TO WORK, BUT WHEN AND WE KNOW HIS SUCCESS WILL BE BIG! So to friends, family, fans, it's a tuff blow. A lesson every successful model has had to learn to reach the top. Fact is, he even had the lesson to learn so big so fast, speaks volumes of his potential. Times on his and our side. Please cut the kid some slack and his very proud father and manager as we continue building his and all of our other amazing models' careers. ALL THE TIME FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE FUTURE ROCK STARS OF TOMORROW!!
Thank you,
His dad and Manager Stacey Eastman. "
We would like to hope that this post will help you all see what it is really like being a model. You get to travel to amazing places and see yourself in magazines and get to wear clothing that most people only dream about. It also can be really humbling, and heartbreaking and you have to learn really fast that your self-worth does not depend on what others think of you. Unfortunately in life there are people who enjoy seeing other people not succeed. Whether it is kids at our models' schools or comments on the internet, we hope that our model's realize that those people are not the people they need to impress. People's comments and negativity is a reflection on them, NOT YOU.
We love all of our models, and know that everything worth having has to be worked for. We are here to help you navigate the ups and downs of being a model. We are just as proud of you for how you deal with your rejections as for your successes.

Ali Stephens in October 2013 Marie Claire Editorial
Did you guys see our girl Ali Stephens in the October 2013 issue of Marie Claire? She was the sole model in a multiple page editorial about winter coats, and we had a hard time picking our favorite pics to share with you. Nothing better than a warm and beautiful winter coat, and no one better to model them than Utah-native Ali. Check out more pictures from the editorial here.

Life Imitating Art with Larisa Fraser
Larisa Fraser, a Pulse Management discovery, and one of our more successful models tied the knot with MLB all-star Ryan Braun. Pulse Mgmt President Stacey Eastman and his wife, (Pulse Mgmt COO) Shayna Eastman attended the wedding last month to celebrate with Larisa and her new husband.
Stacey, Larisa, Ryan and Shayna
When we found Larisa she was a teenager from Alpine, Utah. We have been managing her since then, and now consider her a part of our family. It is crazy to think that had we never scouted her, she might not have pursued modeling, and may have never had the opportunity to meet her future husband. We love that we are able to literally change our models lives, and it was really special for us to be able to celebrate with Larisa and Ryan on their special day. The fact that we were celebrating in their gorgeous home in Malibu, definitely didn't hurt!
Stacey and Shayna Eastman enjoying the date night the wedding provided
As you can see, Larisa was a stunning bride, which was no surprise to anyone. She had a lot of practice being a bride, when she did this campaign for bridal designer Maggie Sotero.

More from Liz's LA Trip
Liz's trip to LA last month proved to be a very successful one indeed. She shot with multiple photographers, and we are absolutely in love with these images from her shoot with Kevin Trinh. He posted this image on his blog, and it looks like it is getting reposted by some other fashion/model bloggers. We are smitten with the simplicity of the top shot, but also love seeing her in the various wardrobe and hair looks. The minimal makeup suits her well, because to be honest she doesn't need much makeup to look phenomenal. When we went to dinner with Liz in LA last month, I couldn't stop admiring her gorgeous skin and features, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one! We love these pics Liz, and we are so proud of the model that you are rapidly becoming.

MAJOR MOMENT MONDAY: Hannah Holman for Marc Jacobs
For today's MMM, we are going back to when our girl, Hannah Holman, landed this huge advertisement, Marc Jacob's fragrance Daisy Eau So Fresh. In the world of fashion, there are few names bigger than Marc Jacobs. Whether it is his eponymous line, Marc by Marc or the work he did while at the helm at Louis Vuitton, he is arguably the best American designer today. (I may be partial to him because we both attended Parsons, but that is beside the point...) Hannah was photographed by Juergen Teller for this ad that ran in most major fashion magazines. Hannah grew up in rural Utah, and that came in handy on this shoot as she detailed in this article for Teen Vogue. These days Hannah is still busy modeling and we are so proud that we are the ones who introduced this beauty to the world's fashion forum.

Ali Stephens for Urban Outfitters
One of our most successful models, Ali Stephens, was recently featured in the Urban Outfitters Holiday Catalogue. Urban Outfitters is one of the most popular retailers amongst teens and young adults, and we think that Ali is a perfect model to showcase their festive clothing. We discovered Ali in 2007 in her hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah. So far Ali has had a career that most models can only dream about, and we are so proud of everything that she has accomplished. We can't wait to see what else Ali has in store for us, because this girl is nowhere near being finished with the fashion world.

It's a New Year...
How amazing is this picture of Erin Cummins? It was taken by Miami-based photographer, Tommy Chung. We think it is a perfect inspiration picture as we start a new year. We are sure the gyms are packed today, with people who have resolved to be healthier this year, and our girl Erin is not exempt from that. Check out this picture she posted on her instagram:
At Pulse Management we want all of our models to be healthy and that goes for all of our blog readers too! We think that 2014 is going to be an amazing year and we can't wait to see what we are going to accomplish this year. So here's to health in 2014, and a special thanks to Erin, for giving us some motivation. Pulse Management President, Stacey Eastman, has a special message for the New Year:
"To all y'all everywhere around the world, Peace be with you and God Bless. This 2014 may we ROCK HARDER THAN EVER BEFORE."

#pulsemgmtholidays: Some of Our Favorites
We absolutely loved seeing everyone's pictures on instagram under the #pulsemgmtholidays. It was such a treat getting to see our models with their families and sharing their holiday pictures with us. We think this will have to be an annual thing for us at Pulse, because we love seeing our models in their homes with their nearest and dearest. This was the closest thing that we could get to spending the holidays with all of you. While we can't post every picture that was posted, here are a few. If you want to see all of them, check them out on Instagram. (Also, are you following us yet on Instagram? If not, what are you waiting for? @pulsemgmt)
Amy Swenson wrote our name in the snow, we love that kind of dedication!
Look like our girl Paris is showing some brand loyalty to VS in her Christmas gift selection.
Olivia and the Hamilton family had an extra member this year...
Pulse Mgmt Head of PR, Lisa, went snowboarding with her husband and Dad. (Happy to report there were sunny skies and fast groomed runs)
Carson Bruner and her siblings, what a cute bunch!
Liz Kennedy looks gorgeous even when building gingerbread houses, must be nice to be Liz!
One of our new models Evy, with her family in Minnesota. I wonder how much snow they had this year?

MAJOR MOMENT MONDAY
We are starting something new here at our Pulse Management Blog, MAJOR MOMENT MONDAYS (MMM). Each Monday we are going to take a stroll down memory lane and pay homage to our gorgeous models and some of the huge jobs they have landed. Did you know that at Pulse we have 19 Vogue covers from our models. In the fashion world, there is no bigger job than a Vogue cover.
For today's MMM we are looking back to when Hye Rim Park, a Pulse Mgmt discovery from Salt Lake City Utah, was front and center on the cover of Vogue Korea. These days there are plenty of successful Asian models, but when we found Hye there were not many (if any) Asian models working consistently. We changed that with Hye, and she walked the biggest runways, and landed jobs with some of the most sought after clients in the industry. We love this girl, and we have loved being a part of her journey.

Merry Christmas from Pulse Mgmt
Merry Christmas (Eve) to all of you! At Pulse Mgmt, we aren't the best singers, so we thought we spare you a video of us singing, and let U2 sing you a holiday song. (Although it might be good entertainment for you to see us singing...) We are so thankful for all of our models (past and present), their families, and for all of you readers. We hope that you all have a wonderful holiday with your loved ones.
Love,
Stacey Eastman and his family, and the rest of the Pulse Mgmt Team

Liz in LA
We have been obsessing over these photos of Liz taken during her last trip to LA. She had a shoot with photographer, Lucas Passmore, and the images are the epitome of California cool. We love the simplicity of the wardrobe and composition, so you can really see how incredible she is as a model. It is still amazing to us that we discovered her a few months ago, and she is already consistently taking such strong pictures (the talented photographers she has been able to work with definitely deserve some credit too!!).
Liz is now back home in Minnesota for the holidays, and we bet the warmth of LA is sounding pretty good to her right about now! The last time I spoke with Liz she told me that when she is not in front of the camera she misses it and can't wait for her next shoot. Lucky for her she won't have to wait long. Stay tuned for what we have up next for this beauty.

Sneak Peek of Carson's Cover of Pink Revista Magazine
Covershooting for PiNK Revista magazine // Backstage with Edgar Berg from Edgar Berg on Vimeo.
Carson Bruner recently shot the front cover for the January/February Issue of Pink Revista Magazine on the streets of downtown New York City. We'll count this video of the shoot as an early Christmas present because it is amazing. It is always fun to see the work that goes into getting a perfect cover photo. Carson looks flawless and it seems she was in great hands with this crew. We can't wait to see the finished product!

Olivia WORKED Japan
We had to repost this picture from Olivia Hamilton's instagram, because it's too awesome not to! We arranged for Olivia to go to Tokyo for 10 weeks, and in that time she booked and completed a total of 41 jobs. In the above photo she is holding all of her daily job detail sheets. She picked them up every evening after her castings, and they listed the work she had in store for the next day. Out of her 41 jobs, she had 10 major editorials, and 10 fashion shows. We had high hopes for Olivia's time in Japan, but she exceeded them! Kick back and relax a little bit over the holidays Olivia, you deserve it. We are looking forward to seeing what she has in store for us in 2014!

Art Basel with Amanda: Part II
In addition to our post yesterday about Amanda Chamberlain walking in the Cavalli Fashion Show during Miami's Art Basel, she also walked in the BCBGMAXAZRIA Fashion Show. The above picture is of Amanda, and BCBG Chief Creative Officer Lubov Azria, doing a last minute wardrobe check before she sent Amanda down the runway. The BCBG Show was held on December 2, which is also Amanda's birthday! Amanda said, "The show took place on my birthday and it was so beautiful! The tent was literally on the beach, open to the ocean... During the finale the models released live butterflies."
The fashion show was at Soho House, which is one of the most exclusive places to go in Miami. Not a bad place to spend a birthday, right Amanda? We think Amanda looks amazing, and this looked like one of the best events to hit Art Basel this year. Thanks for giving us an insiders view to these fashion shows, Amanda. We hope you have a great year ahead of you.

Art Basel with Amanda: Part I
December 7th, marked the end of another amazing Art Basel in Miami. Click on the link to learn more about Art Basel, but it is one of the biggest events in Miami every year. Pulse Mgmt's Amanda Chamberlain, originally from Utah, has been in Miami working for the past few months and she sent us some pictures from her Art Basel experience. These pictures are from the Roberto Cavalli fashion show, held at a private party at the Miami SLS Hotel. These pictures are interesting because you can see Amanda's look from her fitting in the top photo, and then you can see her when she had her make up done and hair almost ready in the second picture from the night of the show.
Many of the parties and events at Art Basel are by invite only, and it can be tough to make the guest lists. Lucky for you readers, we have Amanda to show us her behind the scenes access! Check back on the blog tomorrow for Part II of Art Basel with Amanda.
