Pulse Mgmt's Ali Stephens Works with Oceana

Modelina Blog
Ali's Working for the Good of the World's H2O

"Before she was discovered and catapulted to major model status, Ali Stephens had big dreams to become a marine biologist. But just because she struts the runways and appears on the cover of magazine doesn’t mean that her love for the ocean and its creatures has diminished.

She’s teamed up with Oceana in order to bring awareness to the importance of protecting the world’s oceans. And as part of her position in the organization, she helped organize an event tomorrow, June 8th at the Fairmount Skatepark in her hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah. You see, even though she’s not from a coastal city, Ali equates the movement of skating with the feeling of surfing, hence the skatepark event to raise funds for the ocean and its creatures. Along with an afternoon of half-pipes and skate tricks, there will be limited edition t-shirts for sale which Ali helped to design with Danny Roberts, and of course, all the proceeds will go to help Oceana.

P.S - you’ll notice a quick Modelinia shout-out in the beginning, when the camera pans over Ali’s spot on our leaderboard!"

Pulse Mgmt's Supermodels on Fox TV May 5th "Check Your Pulse"

SALT LAKE CITY - High fashion modeling agencies are traveling to Utah to find fresh new faces. "We have 14 covers of Vogue, all from Utah. We manage three of the top 20 girls in the entire world that we found literally on the street of Utah," Stacey Eastman said. Insiders say that Utah culture creates the cutting edge. "What it comes back to is how kids are raised here. They're unique. There's something in their eye. They have morals and standard that you don't see other places and that's huge," Eastman said.

Experts warn hopefuls to watch out for photographers and self-proclaimed talent agents making false promises. A few models suggest having a manager to help weed out those trying to exploit them. Industry professionals advise young men and women to find out how long an agency has been in business, ask other talent in the agency about their experiences and to know what kind of work the agency focuses on. "There's somebody out there thinking of, you know, the newest greatest idea or scam. And the bottom line is, in this business, knowledge is power," Eastman said.

Utah Model is a Top-Five Finalist in the National Essence "It Girl" Competition. VOTE FOR AMANDA STORCH GO HERE

Salt Lake City, Utah (May 4, 2010)---Amanda Storch, a 15 year old who attends Cottonwood High School, has made it to the top five in the Essence Magazine "It Girl"competition. Out of thousands of entries, Amanda made it to the top tier and was flown to New York to participate in a modeling boot camp, which was filmed for a series of "Making of an It Girl" webisodes.

Amanda already a model with Pulse Management, traveled to
Los Angeles for the "It Girl" competition's audition. She was viewed by a panel of judges made up of celebrities, magazine editors, and modeling industry insiders.

"I sent Amanda to Los Angeles for the audition because they were not looking in Utah for the next hottest African-American supermodel,"says Stacey Eastman, President of Pulse Management. "They should have been!"

After the Los Angeles audition, Amanda was notified she made it to the top five and went to New York to film the webisodes and continue the competition.

"I was kind of scared to go, but also really happy because I knew it would really help my career," Amanda says. "I had so much fun in New York with the other finalists, they are all so nice and I miss them already."

The winner of the contest will be featured in the September 2010 Fall Fashion issue of Essence Magazine and a one-year contract with
Elite Model Management.

"Winning the competition would be amazing," says Amanda. "I have had some hard times, so it would definitely help me make my life better."

The winner is selected by a combination of an online vote (25%) and the judges' scores (75%). Eastman thinks Amanda definitely has what it takes to win and to succeed in the world of modeling.

"Amanda has an amazing personality, and the longest legs! Quite literally she is one of the best girls Pulse Management has launched to date," says Eastman. "She really is the whole package."

The webisodes will be shown on
http://www.essence.com/it_girl/ starting on May 5, 2010.

Fresh and innovative, but altogether outlandish

From the moment Ali Stephens walked out in the first look at Danielle Scutt, you knew you were in for something playful and innovative.

Known for her use of color, this season was no grand departure for the designer. With the exception of one rather outlandish pom-pom adorned scarf, the collection was playful and fresh. There were plenty of polka dots and a ouch of metallic.

Love Magazine talks to Pulse Mgmt's Hannah, Dree and Ana about being stranded in Europe!

Pulse Mgmt's ALI STEPHENS TAKES OVER EUROPE

- Toni and I!

- An awesome mural we found on a tiny little street

- Riding in the car

The last stop of my European tour was Hamburg Germany! I spent the day riding around and seeing the city, which was cool to be in the country where my ancestors are from. I was planning on spending the night at my bff Toni's house before I left. But, it turned out I spent the whole weekend there as I was stuck because of the volcano! It was actually way fun being stuck and we had a blast!!
