We've said it a million times, but we love our models so much. They obviously look amazing in photographs, but there is so much more to each of these individuals, and we want you to be able to learn more about them. Our model Madison Moehling, who happens to be working in Manhattan currently, recently sat down with us for a little Q&A that we think you are going to love. So make sure you press play, and Madison hopefully someday you book your Vogue cover and it shoots in Brazil. (That will make sense if you've watched the video)

Olivia's Back!
This may be old news, but we failed to mention that Olivia Hamilton is back in New York, kicking you know what, and taking names! This bombshell never ceases to amaze us with her determination, and how hardworking she is. She graduated High School early, travels the world, eats healthy, exercises regularly, and basically approaches life with the maturity of someone twice her age. Sometimes we forget she is still a teenager, until she posts a silly selfie or in this case a video of her and Liz Kennedy in the middle of a face mask. We love those two together, and we are so grateful to have them as a part of our Pulse Management team.

Liz is Back in NYC
This post was supposed to go up yesterday, but I'm not sure what happened to it! We don't want to miss out on posting about our model Liz Kennedy and how much we appreciate her. She is back in New York City after some much deserved time off, including her trip to Disney with Olivia Hamilton.
We are so grateful that our scout found Liz, and that she signed with us and trusted us with her career. What makes Liz such an amazing model is not only her incomparable beauty, but her willingness to work hard, and her ambition to continually better herself. We know that these attributes will take her far in her modeling career and in her life. We love you Liz, and we are excited to see what this trip to New York has in store for you.
Interview with Lilli Junge
We know that a lot of you who read this blog are either potential models, or their parents who are trying to learn a little bit more about us. We are posting these videos for you to see a little bit more about who some of our models are and how they have felt on their journeys so far. We also want you all to get to know our models a little bit better, because we think they have such fun personalities to go along with their beautiful exteriors.
We are so glad that Lilli and her mom came out to New York city for their test shoot, and we loved seeing the bonding experience that happens between these mothers and daughters. Not only did Lilli have her first test shoot, she and her mom explored the city, and caught a broadway show. We're glad you enjoyed New York Lilli, because we see potential in you that could have you spending a lot of time there in the future.

Olivia and Liz Take Over Disney World!
Soon our models Olivia Hamilton and Liz Kennedy are going to be in New York getting ready for fashion week, but right now they are living it up at Disney World! These two hit it off when they both were first starting their careers, and we sent them to Tokyo together. They became fast friends, and have since modeled all over the world together. They spent a summer in London, an autumn in Asia, and have been roommates in NYC. We love seeing them spending time together even when they aren't working. These two work hard, and they deserve a little downtime, and what better place that Disney World?!

Model Life: Advice from A Major Casting Director
Models.com recently ran an enlightening interview with casting director, John Pfeiffer. In the article Pfeiffer details how his career began, and what it is like casting models for some of the biggest clients in the fashion industry (Victoria's Secret and Michael Kors are two of his many clients). We like to use our blog as a way to educate our current and potential models about the modeling industry, and we think that this article will be very helpful for anyone who is wanting to be a model. A casting director can make or break a model's career, because in Pfeiffer's words:
"My job and I think the job of a casting director is that of a first set of eyes, and of an editor, because the client can’t see all those girls."
A good casting director knows what his/her clients are looking for, and they see sometimes hundreds of models to bring their clients the right model for the job. If you have time to read the entire article, I highly recommend it because it helps you realize what is going on in the head of the people on the other side of the casting tables. I especially liked the part when Pfeiffer gave the following advice to models:
"Do your research and be educated and know as much as you can about where you’re going and who you are seeing and what you’re doing."

Hazel's Living Her Dream
Behind the scenes video from one of Hazel's recent shoots
Yesterday our model Hazel Eakman, posted something on her instagram that made us all kinds of happy. She wrote:
hazelgrayeSometimes I have to blink a few extra times to make sure this dream of a life I'm living is real. So thankful for every opportunity I was given in 2015 and so excited for all the opportunities to come in 2016 🤘🏻😄
@fusionmodelsnyc @pulsemgmtWe know when we scout our models, we have the ability and potential to really change the course of their lives. Some of our models end up traveling the world, seeing places and meeting people that they never would have if we never scouted them. We have had a few of our models meet their spouses through their modeling careers, and some of them now have families of their own. It is incredibly rewarding to help people live their dreams, and we absolutely love doing it.Hazel, when we scouted you in Minnesota, we knew you had so much potential. We have loved seeing you develop as a model and a person during your time in New York City, and we know that you still have many great things ahead both in your modeling career and in your life.

Models.com Model of the Year Awards
Modeling Industry website, models.com, recently announced its Model of the Year Awards for 2015. I look forward to this list every year, and I love to see who comes out on top. In my humble opinion, some of the winners are spot on, some of them are intentionally humorous (Derek Zoolander for comeback of the year!), and some of them just go to show what we already know about the changing industry. While we can't argue that certain top models these days have gained a degree of their success due to their involvement in reality television shows, we also can't argue that this new generation of celebrity models are booking some of the biggest jobs in the industry.
We personally think that some of our models are every bit (or more) talented than some of the winners, and we think that it's only a matter of time until you see a couple of our girls on this list. Our models work hard for every job they book, and we know that determination only makes you a stronger person and model.
While none of our models are listed, we had a few models gain profiles on models.com, and our models walked the world's biggest runways (Dior, Delpozo, Burberry, Dolce and Gabbana, etc.), and were featured in the most notable fashion magazines (Vogue, Marie Claire, Harper's Bazaar, French Revue De Modes, etc.). We are proud of the body of work and of each of our models. So here's to 2016, and we know that our models have great things in store for us this year.

Olivia Hamilton on Health
Well apparently this week is Liz and Olivia week, but these two beautiful best friends keep providing us with material that is too good not to share with all of you. Yesterday morning Olivia Hamilton posted a Facebook status about health that really verbalized exactly what we try to tell our models all the time. In order to model you have to have a certain figure, and really it is more about keeping up your overall health, than just losing weight. In order to be able to model you have to have the stamina to be in front of the camera (which sometimes entails running, jumping, dancing, etc.), not to mention be able to run from casting to casting, and be able to do a lot of it in stilettos. Having models who will be able to keep themselves healthy is key, because if a model is starving herself to just be thin there is no way she will be able to keep up with her career (not to mention how unhealthy that is!).
Olivia said, "I think a lot of people struggle with the concept of health. Just because someone's skinny doesn't mean they are healthy and just because someone is healthy doesn't mean they are skinny. Any size person can be malnourished and any size person can be healthy to a degree. The difference is a diet of veggies, fruit, lean proteins, and whole grains versus a diet of skipping meals, restricting calories, etc. With the right amount of healthy portion control, healthy foods, and exercising, your results will be far better than the other route. I don't understand why people choose to do it the unhealthy way instead of increase their life span and live a happy, healthy life. In the long run that's what matters."
So the moral of the story is, we want you all to be healthy, especially as the New Year approaches and everyone is making their resolutions. Don't look for short cuts to a perfect body, instead focus on your overall health and choose a way to get healthy that you can sustain for the long run.

Olivia the Graduate!
We have to give a major shout out to our model Olivia Hamilton. She has been working with us for a few years now, traveling all over the world, and staying on the Honor Roll while doing it. Olivia just finished high school, a semester early, and kept up her impressive grades while doing it. This girl is not only beautiful, but she is smart, and she is a hard worker, which is an incredible combination. We are proud of you Olivia, and we know that you will be able to accomplish anything you put your mind to.

Why We Love Holly Sherman
Everyone, this is Holly Sherman, one of favorite models. We may say that a lot about our models, but with Holly we are going to tell you why we love her so much. She signed with us a little while ago after being scouted in Illinois. She did her test shoot with Dolls Model Management, and we saw that she had a lot of potential. Like many of the models we work with, Holly had a couple of things to work on before we launched her career. I won't specifically say what Holly needed to work on, but generally models need to either work on their grades (if they are still in high school they can't travel if they don't have good grades), sometimes they need to clear up their skin, or start exercising/eating better to have a healthier figure (it may seem superficial, but it is the industry we work in).
Part of our model management is the development of a model. We could have tried to launch Holly's career after her first shoot, and she might have been successful, we wouldn't have signed her if we didn't think she was someone special. We just knew that if we developed her a little bit and gave her the opportunity to work on what she needed to, she would have a much better chance in this fickle industry. Instead of being a good model right away, we wanted to have her be an incredible one after a little time preparing for her career.
So after Holly's shoot in New York, she took our advice seriously and spent months working on getting herself ready to really dive into her modeling career. We kept in contact and were impressed by Holly's dedication to her goals. Soon she was ready to travel back to New York and work with our partner Fusion Model Management.
"I'm signed with Fusion and currently building my book," said Holly. "It has been an extraordinary journey so far and I can't wait to see what the future holds."
Neither can we! Seeing Holly starting to live her dream of being a model is so rewarding because we know she worked hard to get there. That will serve her well because she will appreciate her successes more. We hope that our current and future models will see this story about Holly and realize that if/when they receive criticism they can either ignore it, or use it to make themselves better. Below one of our favorite pictures on Holly's instagram it says, "Decide. Commit. Succeed." We can't think of a better motto for our models, and we hope they can all have Holly's maturity and drive in their careers as well.

Madison Moehling and Hazel Eakman COVER Haunted Mag
Well we have to say that December is off to an incredible start! This photo from the COVER of Haunted Mag's Fall 2015 issue is doubly amazing because it features two of our models. Madison Moehling and Hazel Eakman are smoldering in this photo, and it is so exciting that they get to share this cover together. The photo was shot by Ali Daniel Flores, styled by Eduardo Romo, hair by Sheri Pinto, and the makeup was done by Christyna Kay.
A model's first magazine cover is a major feat, and we are so proud of both of our girls for their big moment.

Why Finding the Right Photographer Matters
The above video is an experiment done by Canon, to see how differently one subject can be photographed by six different photographers. Each photographer was given a unique backstory about the subject, and its amazing how much each photograph turned out.
We are always amazed how each model of ours can look so differently, depending on the shoot she's in and the photographer. We also stress to our new potential models the importance of testing with currently published and proven photographers. A model's portfolio can make or break her, and sometimes no matter how incredible the model, if her book is subpar it can make it nearly impossible to find her work.
At Pulse Management we take pride in the development of the models we represent. Through our Dolls Model Management shoots, we only use photographers that we know will deliver us the kinds of photographs needed to launch a model's career. We are lucky to know and work with some of the most talented photographers in the business.

Way to Go Sarah!
We are more than a little bit biased but we think that our models are truly exceptional people both in front of the camera and in their real lives. Amongst our models we have athletes, scholars, artists, writers, dancers, and more. They have so many talents that we appreciate and celebrate.
Sarah Linnabary just helped her team win the district championships, and this is especially notable because she is a 7th grader, but she plays on the 8th grade team. We can only imagine the hours of practice that go into winning a championship like this, and we are so proud of Sarah!
She is one of our new faces, you may remember this post we did about her test shoot with Timothy Rosado. It ended up being one of our most viewed posts of that month, so we think that you all are as big of fans of Sarah as we are! Just in case you missed them, here are a few pictures from her shoot.

Update on BriAnn Rachele
Do you all remember our model (turned superstar) BriAnn Rachele? She is one of our favorite models, and we have absolutely loved managing her career over the years. She filmed season one of Model Turned Superstar in Australia with Alessandra Ambrosio. We can't tell you exactly what place she came in on the show, but I can tell you that it is in the top five, which is amazing!
Since wrapping up filming BriAnn kept busy in Australia filming two short films and a comedy series. She attended the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), and has been working as a TV host and sports broadcaster. Not bad for a model that we found in Utah!
BriAnn is now back in the states and getting ready to move out to LA to take on the acting world. We are so proud of everything that she has accomplished so far, and it has been both rewarding and fun to manage her career.
When I asked her about her experience on Model Turned Superstar she said:
"Being on Model Turned Superstar was an experience of a lifetime! I met so many beautiful people and had the opportunity to go to some really amazing locations. The challenges were so much fun (some a bit scary!) and I feel I got to learn and do a lot of things that I normally wouldn't have, which is so cool! They really took care of us on set and made the entire experience beyond memorable - every day was a spectacular one!! I learned so much there about myself and where I want my career to go and to come back and to have the support of Stacey is phenomenal, as always!! I'm very excited for what's coming and even more excited knowing I have my Pulse family behind me every step of the way and now the support of the life-long friends i've made from Model Turned Superstar! Stay tuned for the show to air - it will be fun to reminisce and I want everyone to take this journey with me. xoxo "

New Video of Alex Romney
We tell our models all the time how important their personality is for their career. Beautiful models are a dime a dozen, and their personality is what is going to set them apart from all of the other models at the castings they go to. At their photoshoots, being upbeat and positive makes a big impression on the rest of the crew. No one wants to work (in any capacity) with someone who is complaining all the time.
Some models are more reserved, and it is a challenge to be outgoing and upbeat in front of the camera. Our model Alex Romney is not one of them. We recently received this video from her, and it shows why we love her so much. Her fun personality is infectious, and we know that it is a big reason why people love having her on jobs. Remember this Aeropostale shoot she did? Some of the bookers at the agencies we have set up Alex to work with even send out videos like this of her to potential clients, and we can definitely see why.
Alex, you are amazing, and we love managing your career!

Bree Hannemann's Trip of a Lifetime
Pulse Management model and scout, Bree Hannemann is currently on a trip most people only dream about. Keep in mind she already lives (with her darling family) in Hawaii, but now she is on a trip for the next six months where they will visit about 10 countries. We are loving following along with her journey on her instagram, she is currently in Tonga. Feel free to follow along for more beautiful pictures (she's also a photographer), and updates on her adventures. Bree, don't forget to scout us some supermodels while you are traveling the world's best beaches!

Model Testimonial: Emma Harris
We know that a lot of people who read our blog are people who are interested in beginning their modeling career, and sometimes are a little unsure about how and where to begin. When we met Emma Harris and her parents in New York City for a Dolls Test Shoot, we had to shoot a video of them because we thought that their perspective and point of view would be helpful for other potential models (and their parents!).
You may remember Emma from our previous posts, and how she was scouted by us twice! What you may not know about her, that you see in the video, is that she has protective parents (like so many of you do!). We see so many models with protective parents, and as parents ourselves, we totally understand where they are coming from! The modeling industry is intimidating and is notoriously wrought with scams and scandals, so when we see skeptical parents we aren't the least bit surprised or phased. We actually posted this to help people more efficiently research us (and any other companies) online.
What we love about Emma, her parents, and so many other of our models' parents, is that despite their initial worries or hesitations, they do their research and then trust what they see from our actual working models and their parents' testimonials. It is completely normal to be intimidated or a little afraid before embarking on a new journey like modeling, but our models that have found success are the ones who take the first steps anyway. They decide trust us to lead them in their careers.
Emma's dad is a detective. Seriously, he does detective work for his profession, and he found us suitable for his daughter's model management. So please watch the video and hear from the Harris' in their own words, why they decided to work with Pulse Management. We would like to thank the Harris family for agreeing to do this testimonial, and for being so awesome! As you see in the video they are fun to have around, and we are so excited to have a working relationship with them, as well as a friendship.

Liz Kennedy and Olivia Hamilton in Tokyo
If you aren't following our models Olivia Hamilton and Liz Kennedy on their social media, you are missing out. (Olivia's instagram, and Liz's instagram) These two BFFs have been posting pictures of their time in Tokyo and it is giving us not only travel envy, but some serious friendship goals! We are looking forward to seeing pictures from their shoots out there, but in the meantime we are loving seeing these pictures. Maybe we are biased but we have to say that some of these pictures look like they could be in a magazine, but I guess that's what happens when two models are best friends and the city of Tokyo is their background.
