Natalie Keyser for Amazing Magazine

While searching for pictures of another model (I'll share those with you later), I found this editorial of our model Natalie Keyser, and it was the best surprise! This editorial called "Traffic Control" is from Amazing Magazine, and it lives up to the magazine title. Natalie is no longer modeling, but we are thrilled that she has decided to stay in the Pulse Management family as a scout. So future models, consider yourself warned, Natalie is on the lookout for you. If she is as good of a scout as she is as a model, we are going to have some new supermodels on our hands in no time!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

We hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween today!  We think the our model Natalie Keyser still holds the crown for the scariest shoot that we posted about here.  We wonder if anyone will ever be able to top the scary images from her shoot for Spoon Magazine, and don't get me started on the video that accompanies the editorial.  I am definitely a wimp when it comes to all things scary, but I don't think I'm the only one that is more than a little spooked!

Feeling Nostalgic with Natalie Keyser

The other day on Facebook I saw the above picture and the following post from our model Natalie Keyser:

"So I'm packing up my apartment and I dropped a heavy box. Turns out it's all my modeling pictures. There must be at least 500 pictures here and these aren't even including my last NYC trip or Mexico trip or half of my jobs...considering I haven't even seen all of my work. I'm proud of myself. I had a wonderful career."

Seeing that pile of pictures had me thinking about all of the blog posts I have written about this talented young woman over the years, and all of the pictures posted.  To see more about the amazing things Natalie accomplished in her career click HERE.  You deserve to be proud of yourself Nat, we are proud of everything we accomplished together, and thank our lucky stars that our scout found you so many years ago.

We Love Natalie Keyser!

A few days ago Stacey Eastman, President of Pulse Management, received the sweetest texts from one of our models.  Natalie Keyser, one of our more successful models as you can see HERE, said the following:

"...I wanted to thank you again for seeing me when no else did and believing in me. I don't know where in life I would have been without those amazing life experiences. It's because of you. You believed in me and never stopped. You have no idea how grateful I am that you actually cared enough to always push me forward into doing something that I loved. I miss it sometimes, very much. And I know that I'll never be able to go back, but knowing that you cared enough about me and my family to push me and listen even when I was annoying, I just can't thank you enough for those life experiences. You'll always be my favorite agent and a wonderful friend. I can just never thank you enough for what you did for me. I'm not sure I ever told you all of that. But you are an amazing person in my life and a great role model. I'll never forget what you have done for me and I just hope that you're forever in my life. I love you and your family Stacey. Thank you for everything you've done for me. I will forever be grateful."

We discovered Natalie and started her modeling career when she was only 12 years old and managed her for about a decade.  When a model signs with us she becomes not only a part of our roster of models, but she becomes like family to us.  We are forever grateful to you Natalie, for trusting us with your career and helping you develop into the beautiful woman you are today.

New Editorial for Natalie Keyser

One of the exciting (and frustrating) things about modeling is sometimes you never know when you are going to get pictures back, or when you will stumble on pictures from a shoot you were in.  Natalie Keyser recently found these pictures from an editorial she shot for a Mexican fashion magazine called Elfes Magazine.  Natalie spent some time working in Mexico City, and we were continually impressed by the quality of the editorials she was in during her time there.

Natalie Keyser on Style.com

Today is the first MAJOR MOMENT MONDAY of 2015, and we have a great one for you! Back in July of 2014 Pulse model, Natalie Keyser was featured HERE on Style.com.  If you are not familiar with style.com, let me just say that it is one of the must-see daily online destinations for the fashion industry.  It's a big deal.  For this shoot, Natalie was styled by Lauren Goodman, who has been at the fashion helm for magazines like Domino and the Wall Street Journal.  The whole shoot was pretty major and the fact that it was on Style.com makes it even more so.

MAJOR MOMENT MONDAY: Natalie Keyser for Man Candy

For our last Major Moment Monday of 2014, we thought these pictures of Natalie Keyser would end off the year with a bang!  The exciting and challenging thing about booking an entire advertising campaign is being shown in the same hair and makeup, but still making each picture look interesting. We may be biased, but Natalie looks amazing in each picture, and so does the wardrobe!  Natalie shot this campaign while she was working down in Mexico City. We think this may be some of our favorite work of hers to date!

MAJOR MOMENT MONDAY: Natalie Keyser for Elle UK

It's MAJOR MOMENT MONDAY time again! Hopefully this helps give you all something to look forward to on Mondays.  Today we are looking back to November of 2009 when Natalie Keyser smoldered in this editorial for Elle UK.  This editorial was near the beginning of Natalie's career and it helped show that she was a model to watch. A few weeks ago we looked back on when we launched Natalie's career, click here to see a picture from the very beginning.  We are still proud of this editorial of Natalie's because not only is Elle a major publication, and the UK is a huge fashion market, this is around when she was starting to prove herself as a bonafide model and a superstar in our eyes.

THROWBACK THURSDAY: Natalie Keyser Then and Now

We are starting a new series with our Throwback Thursdays, we are going to post pictures of our models when they first started with us, and then a current picture of them.  We love to look back and see how far our models have come since their first photoshoots.  We sign models because of the potential we see in them, and it is exciting to see them evolve into the models we knew they could be.

Today we have pictures of Natalie Keyser, who signed with us when she was 12 years old.  If you click here you can see what an impressive career Natalie has forged in the modeling industry, and we love this girl like she is our family, because after all these years she pretty much is.  Natalie has traveled all over the world modeling, walking the biggest runways, and appearing in the most notable magazines (Vogue and Harper's Bazaar are just two examples). We are proud of you Natalie, and we love managing your career.

The Financial Realities of Modeling

Recently Forbes Magazine published their annual article ranking the Highest-Paid Models in the world.  While it is easy to be enticed by hearing about their multi-million dollar fortunes, it is important for potential models to know that these women are the exception, not the rule.  Forbes teamed with VFiles to create the below video explaining more about the financial side of the modeling industry.  Models can quickly go into debt when they are starting because their agencies are paying for a lot of things in their behalf, but they expect to be paid back out of your future earnings. This is why it is so important to have experienced model management guiding your career.

At Pulse Management, we keep in mind our model's financial situations and we enough experience in the industry to know what jobs to advise our models to take to earn them money, but not to diminish their editorial possibilities.  For example, a catalogue job for Walmart may pay big money, but the top tier of fashion jobs (Vogue, Fashion Week Runways, Luxury Advertising Campaigns like Chanel, Prada, etc.) are not going to hire a model who previously worked for Walmart.   We send our models overseas so they gain experience, are guaranteed our negotiated sum of money, and then they are still seen as desirable for the high fashion jobs we pursue.  It takes a long time to understand this industry enough, and we have learned the ropes in our 20+ years of business.

This is not to say that you cannot be successful in the industry.  Quite the contrary actually, we have managed or currently manage some of the top models in the industry (Ali Stephens, Hannah Holman, Hye Rim Park, Tori Praver, Liz Kennedy, Natalie Keyser, etc).  We know how to become successful because we have done it with our models time and time again. Whether you are signed with Pulse Management or not, we feel a responsibility to educate those who want to be in the modeling industry about these things, so you do not become a victim of a greedy agency who doesn't care how much debt you ring up while they attempt to get you work. Hopefully this will help some of you!

Happy Halloween!

Natalie Keyser in Spoon Magazine
HAPPY HALLOWEEN to all of our dear readers! We have to say that we are still being haunted by Natalie Keyser's shoot for Spoon Magazine that we posted about here. In our opinion that shoot was the spookiest of the year, by far, don't believe us, watch the video in the post. Clearly Pulse Management President, Stacey Eastman (pictured below), is a fan of the holiday and we hope you all are too.  We love this post on Modelinia, showing that even beautiful models can be scary looking.  Or at the very least they can be funny looking while they try to look scary.  We hope you all have a fun Halloween, and please be safe out there!

Natalie Keyser for Soho Magazine

Although Natalie Keyser has been home from Mexico for a while, we are still getting images from her trip. That is not uncommon in this industry, and sometimes it takes a long time to track images down, and when you do get them, it can feel like Christmas morning.  That is how we feel seeing these images of Natalie.  This editorial is for Soho Magazine, and we think they are stunning. They transport you into a different time and that is the power of photography (and styling, hair and makeup, props, modeling, etc.).  With Halloween coming up these pics are good inspiration to be a cavewoman, but we doubt any of us would look anywhere near as good as Natalie does in these pics! If you are interested to hear about how Natalie started with us, and hear about her career firsthand, click here to see a video of her explaining it all!

MAJOR MOMENT MONDAY: Modeling Rites of Passage

When you are a model there are many milestones that you hopefully encounter throughout your career.  A few of these are signing with an agency, the first time you travel for a job, your first photo shoot, first fashion show, etc.  Three of our models recently experienced some exciting milestones, and we wanted to take a moment to congratulate them.  Natalie Keyser had the experience of seeing her magazine cover for La Costa magazine end up on a billboard.  It must be surreal to see a photograph of yourself blown up that large on the side of the road.

Sophia Skloss also had a milestone, when she saw herself in a magazine editorial while working in Asia.  I don't know if a model ever tires of seeing the finished product of her work in print.

Lastly, Pulse Management model Karsyn Bartruff's mom was at the airport and she saw her daughter's photo looking up at her on the cover of Elle Magazine.  I can only imagine how exciting that was!

We love seeing these models (and their mom's) dream coming true, and seeing the results from their hard work.  Congrats ladies, we are so proud to be a part of your amazing careers.

Happy Birthday Natalie!

We want to wish a happy happy birthday to Natalie Keyser today!  We may say this a lot, but Natalie really is one of our very favorite people, let alone one of our favorite models.  In this industry loyalty means everything, and the simple fact that Natalie has been one of our models for a decade now shows just how incredible she is.  It has been our pleasure watching Natalie grow from a little 12 year old, into the amazingly gorgeous woman she is today.  In her 22 years she has traveled the world, walked the most prestigious runways, and graced the pages of Vogue, which is pretty incredible for someone at any age! Truly we are better people for knowing her, and we have been so lucky to be a part of her life.  Happy birthday Nat, we think this is going to be a great year for you!

Natalie Keyser for VOGUE Mexico

Happy Friday everyone! Today we have a special treat for you, in the form of these incredible pictures of Natalie Keyser.  These pictures are from a Fall Fashion feature on the Vogue Mexico website.  The photos were shot by Abel Lopez, and they are pretty much perfection.  Anytime one of our models is in Vogue it is cause for celebration, but this shoot is exceptional because there are 29 images in the gallery and all of them are stunning!  Click here to see the whole shoot.  We keep saying that Natalie is at the top of her game, and these images just further reiterate that!
