A MODELING MUST READ

If you are one of our models, you need to read this article we found on Beauty Look Magazine.  If you want to be a model, you need to read it. I don't mean to be bossy, but this one article summed up what we have been telling our models for years.  No one can make or break your career like you can!  You tell us that you want to be a model, by following this article you prove to us that you want to be one. It is a pretty short article, but it is definitely worth your time to read it. You can thank us later, and have a great weekend everyone!

We love looking at the Throwback Thursday: Then and Now pictures of our models. When we scout our models we see the potential in them, but their future success depends a lot on them.  We can place them with the best agencies in the world, but if they do not want to go, or if they are not camera-ready when the opportunities arise, or don't treat their agencies or the artists their work with well, they can kill their own careers before they start. So we love when we get a chance to reflect on our models' success.

We discovered Erin Cummins in her home state of Washington, and the rest is history!  She worked New York Fashion Week, she's worked in Miami, Asia, and in Europe.  We are looking forward to seeing what she has in store next.  In our opinion it should be Victoria's Secret or Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.

Sophia Skloss for La Totalite

How pretty are these images of our girl Sophia Skloss?  They are from the 2014 Fall/Winter cookbook for La Totalite.  These pictures are from when Sophia was working in Asia, as we documented in these posts.  We can't say enough how valuable spending time working in Asia has been for so many of our models.  It helps them build their confidence and make some money before they try to work in the other major markets.  Sophia spent her time in Tokyo well, and we are working hard to continue building the momentum she gained while over there.  Stay tuned everyone, we are expecting to see great things from this model.

Aaron Jessee is Living the Good Life

As everyone else is getting settled after the holiday weekend most of us are facing the colder temperatures and harsh weather of winter.  Not Pulse Management Action Sports' team member Aaron Jessee though.  Aaron is living the good life in Hawaii surfing and skating to his heart's content.  Aaron also gets to do cool things like this and this.  I guess the moral of this story is that its a good day to be Aaron Jessee, especially in the winter!

MAJOR MOMENT MONDAY: Ali and Hye for Vogue Paris

For today's Major Moment Monday, we are going back to April of 2008.  Vogue Paris did an editorial on the top models in the industry and it was photographed by none other than Scott Schulman, the Sartorialist himself!  The models selected for this editorial, are still some of the biggest names in the modeling world including: Angela Lindvall, Coco Rocha, Doutzen Kroes, Natasha Poly, Raquel Zimmerman, and Sasha Pivovarova.  Not one but TWO Pulse Management discoveries were included, Ali Stephens and Hye Park. We discovered both Ali and Hye in Salt Lake City, Utah and launched their careers.  Its pretty amazing to think these two models from Utah, ended up being included in an editorial for Vogue Paris, with the top models in the entire world.  If that's not major, I don't know what is.

What Would We Do Without...

Our models' parents?  In continuing our week of gratitude, we have to say that we have been so lucky to have met and worked with so many amazing models and their parents.  We have definitely had some parents that we would like to forget working with, but for the most part our models' parents are every bit as amazing as they are.  We have made some great friends over the years with so many of them, and we consider ourselves lucky to have the pleasure to work with such amazing people.  These moms and dads trust us with their child's career, and they hop on planes and go all over the world helping their son or daughter follow their dreams.  It's pretty amazing to see.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Happy Thanksgiving to each and everyone of you that reads our blog. We are so thankful for all of you, and for our amazing models and their families.  We feel truly blessed that we get to work with such amazing people doing what we love.

We hope that you all have a great day filled with food, friends, family, and love.

Kristina Jordan in NYC!

In keeping with our theme of being thankful, today we want to publicly express how thankful we are for the opportunities we have to change our models' lives.  We scout our models in their hometowns, and then we get to launch their careers and facilitate their traveling to different cities around the world.  It is so rewarding for us to see our models experience new cities and cultures while pursuing a career in the modeling industry.

For example, pictured in this post is one of our newer models Kristina Jordan.  She is from Southern California, and just returned home from her first modeling trip to New York.  Kristina signed with us, and shot with Dolls Model Management just a few months ago. After her amazing test shoot our partners in New York were interested in her, so Kristina and her mom flew out for an NYC adventure.

I asked Kristina what she thought about New York and she said, "I think it would be cool to live here someday. It is so much fun seeing all of the buildings, big stores, and the tourist attractions. It does get a little colder than I expected but it's definitely worth it! It's been fun meeting the photographers and stylists.  They are all really nice and welcoming.  Mom is impressed with how kind and helpful people have been, how much easier it is to get around than I expected, and with seeing all of the places I've only heard about."

Kristina and her mom have both expressed that signing with Pulse Management and working with Stacey has made breaking into the modeling world much easier than they thought it would be. "I felt like I would be safer with an agent who would look out for me and represents my interests. Stacey is really awesome and fun and I know that I can go to him if I ever have any question. Mom and dad appreciate that Stacey cares about values and health as well as beauty. We feel Stacey has the knowledge and experience to guide my career to its maximum potential."

Lastly she said, "Our experience in NYC has been amazing! Instead of coming in alone knocking on doors in hopes off being noticed, we have the guidance of an expert team who are taking us to the best of the best."

When we read that we know that we are doing our jobs right.  We are so thankful for models like Kristina, and the abilities that we have to help shape their lives.

Update on Georgia Weeks

Seeing as it is Thanksgiving this week, we want to post about a few things that we are thankful for.  Today we are starting with this Oregonian beauty, Georgia.  Georgia signed with us, did her Dolls Development shoot in Hollywood, and has done these great shoots since.  Georgia is currently on hold for work in New York and Paris, so she has some very exciting things coming up.  We are looking forward to seeing what the New Year has in store for her, but in the meantime we are definitely thankful what she has already accomplished.  The fact that her mom is great to work with is just another thing we are counting our blessings about.

MAJOR MOMENT MONDAY: Brittany McPhee for Teen Vogue

We discovered Brittany McPhee in her hometown in Washington, and launched her career shortly after.  Some models take awhile to gain momentum in their careers, Brittany was not one of them.  We were thrilled when she shot this editorial for Teen Vogue magazine in May of 2010.  Not only did she look incredible in the pictures, this editorial was 8 Pages, which for any magazine is a big deal, but the fact that it was for Teen Vogue made it MAJOR.  Brittany went on to shoot two more editorials for Teen Vogue, which shows that they loved her as much as we do!

Liz, Olivia, and Carson in NYC

Being a model is an interesting life, especially for a teenager.  If you're lucky you pack your bags and leave sometimes for months at a time to work in other cities and countries.  If you are in high school it can be hard to leave behind friends, sports teams, etc., and since most of your hometown friends aren't models it can feel a little bit lonely.  Thats why we encourage and love it when our models become friends. It is comforting to have an ally in a new city, and it also makes everything more fun.  It also is helpful to have someone else to talk to who understands the whole world of modeling, because they are trying to navigate it too.  We have seen a ton of pictures of Olivia and Liz together, and it makes us so happy to see two of our favorite models as best friends.  Olivia is from Colorado and Liz is from Minnesota, and luckily modeling (and Pulse Managment) brought these buddies together.  While in New York recently they met up with another Pulse Management discovery, Carson Bruner.  Carson has been modeling a little bit longer than these two, so they probably enjoyed learning the ropes from someone with more experience.  Keep taking these selfies girls, we love seeing how much fun you're having!

Man oh man, the heavens were smiling down on us when we found Liz Kennedy at a concert in Minnesota.  We have always known that Liz has the potential to be an incredible model, but her latests pictures are even better than we hoped for.  She is currently in New York City and these are some test shoots she took while working with our New York Partner, Fusion.  She is up for some pretty incredible jobs right now, so everyone keep your fingers crossed for this beauty.  She is on the cusp of something major if she books it!

Emma Landen for Jazmin Chebar

We have seen our share of beautiful pictures in our day, but these images of Emma Landen are simply stunning!  They are from the Jazmin Chebar Spring/Summer 2015 Campaign. Our scouts discovered Emma in her hometown in Colorado and she has gone on to work in New York, Miami, and she shot this ad for Dior.  She signed with IMG Models, one of the biggest agencies in NYC, and the world.  These images just show what we saw when we discovered her as a 12 year old, a beautiful model who has the potential to do huge things!
