Model Life: Olivia Hamilton in NYC

While doing our daily Instagram rounds we had an idea. We thought it might be fun to show our readers what a model's life is really like, using the pictures of our very own Olivia Hamilton.  Olivia was discovered in her hometown in Colorado, but is currently living the model life in New York City.  Please enjoy her photo diary of what her life is like these days:

Olivia and her roommate, Pulse Mgmt model Liz Kennedy, enjoying their view
She works out to ensure she is looking healthy and is at her best for potential jobs and castings.  Its better to stay in shape than to have to try to get into shape when an opportunity arises.  "Practice makes progress," Olivia says and we agree with her!
Olivia gets ready and brings her book with her to multiple castings
With other models waiting at a casting, this one was for YSL.  Modeling has a lot of downtime, and many people are surprised to know models are very well read, because they read while they wait.
After she books a job, Olivia has fun on set in her colorful makeup look

Aaron Jessee from the Surf to the Streets

When Aaron Jessee signed with Pulse Management Action Sports, he probably had no idea what he had in store.  On his recent trip to New York City, with Pulse Management President, Stacey Eastman, Aaron had meetings, test shoots, and a little fun while doing it all.  Aaron is a surfer first and foremost, but we are pursuing a fashion/action sports hybrid career for him so he can support himself and his surfing!  Needless to say our clients loved Aaron, and his awesome hair, and we have a feeling there are a lot of great things in store for this San Clemente, CA native, especially after we saw the pics from one of his test shoots.

Welcome to NYC Charlee!

As Stacey Eastman, Pulse Management President, was leaving New York City last week he ran into a couple of familiar faces at the airport.  Pulse Management model Charlee Pilon and her mom were arriving into the city.  Our partners at Fusion in NYC have wanted to get Charlee in the city for awhile now, but Charlee was dedicated to her athletics and school so we had to wait until the time was right.  She just graduated, and is now ready to take the fashion world by storm!

Charlee's NYC roommate should look familiar, its Pulse Management Model, Anna Fisher.  We love it when our models become friends!

Armon in Paris

We have been so busy keeping up with Stacey Eastman's adventures in New York, we need to take a minute to update you on the other Eastman making waves in the fashion industry. Armon Eastman is currently in Paris, and we can't get enough of these photos of him.  Famed French photographer Anthony Arquier took these as a test shoot, and we think they are incredible.  Keep up the good work Armon, we have a feeling these won't be the last of the amazing pictures we see out of your Paris trip.

Looks Like Olivia and Liz Have a New BFF...

While in New York, Pulse Management President, Stacey Eastman, was able to catch up with some of our models working there currently.  He was able to see Liz Kennedy (from Minnesota) and Olivia Hamilton (from Colorado) walk the same runway in a fashion show.  Later they went to dinner with another Pulse Management model, Alisha Judge and Fusion Model Management's (Pulse's New York Partner) Jodie Louise.  We have models working all over the world right now, so it is always nice when we are in the same place as some of them!

Anna Fisher Arrives in NYC

Pulse Management is taking over New York City this week!  Not only is our president, Stacey Eastman, in NYC so many of our models are there right now too.  In the above picture Anna Fisher is saying goodbye to her twin sister Katie, as Anna boarded a flight to NYC.  This is the first time the twins will live apart in their 18 year lives.  Luckily, Stacey was there upon Anna's arrival to help her get acquainted with New York.  First stop was the Fusion (Pulse Mgmt's New York Partner) Office, and then they toured around the city. Also, what trip to NY is complete without a taxi ride, so Stacey sent us a video of him and Anna riding through the crazy streets of NYC. We are so excited to see what happens with Anna on this trip, because this model's potential is out of this world.

Model Life: Viktoria Lien

We just received this essay that one of our models, Viktoria, sent us and we thought it was too good not to share with all of you.  Viktoria is from Orlando, and she is currently in New York City modeling.  As detailed in her essay below, she had to work through her shyness in order to become a model. As you can see from her photos, she is an amazing model, and she will only get better as she continues to get more comfortable in front of the camera.  We love to hear from our models in their own words, because we feel like it helps others relate to what they are going through.  We can't wait to see what this girl has in store for us!  Please enjoy Viktoria's essay below:

“What do you want to be when you grow up?”
I was asked on a First grade form.  I’m not sure what I answered, maybe veterinarian, but I am sure that I did not write movie star or rock star or President. I did not see myself being the center of attention or preforming in front of a lot of people. I was shy.
It's true that in third grade I did take an afternoon class in cheerleading which is not the activity of a shy person.  But third grade cheerleading is hardly real cheerleading and there were only ten girls in the class and they were all my friends. Also, I was the tallest girl so I was always placed on the bottom of the pyramids or in the back of the group.  Our only public performance was given on the final day of class when the parents, mostly moms, came.   So this did not interfere with my shyness.
When I was in sixth grade, I was asked the question again. I answered "marine biologist." What can I say?  I loved animals.  In fact, my BFF and I decided that , when we grew up, we would live together and have a house full of dogs.  Still no movie star, rock star or President for me.  I was not a performer.
When I was thirteen (an official teenager), my shyness got worse and my head filled with a lot of questions about my life: Do people like me?   Will they hate me if I do something wrong?   My biggest fear was upsetting people around me.  I did not enjoy being the center of attention and thought that other people deserved it more.  My mind was wrapped up in growing up and not what kind of job I wanted to do
When I was fourteen,  I went to a concert with my friends, and I was scouted by a modeling agency. As a good mother would do, my mom checked the website of the agency that scouted me, and made sure that the it was the real deal and not just someone trying to take our money.  It turned out to be real.  I was a little hesitant about the whole modeling idea because I had no idea what was going to occur.   We went to Miami to visit agencies and do test shoots.  It was a foreign feeling for me to be in the center of attention and to have people fuss over me. My shyness leaked through and my mind filled with questions, "Did I really deserved this?"
This summer I went to New York  to audition with NY Modeling Agencies.  New York is the big league.  I was immediately offered a contract by a major agency and I signed with them.   My manager told me that having a contract in New York shows how much I deserve it as much as the next person.  He said,  "being crazy is better than being bland,  there is nothing that you could do to make them not like you, and be more extroverted and this will help you in the long run."   The photographers were very sweet.  They  taught me about the industry and how to come out of my shell.
It still is weird to be the center of attention, but I enjoy what I’m doing and that is all that matters to me.. The more I model, the less strange being the center of attention feels.
So what does the shy girl, who does not like being the center of attention, want to be when she grows up?  What else?  A Model, whose job it is to perform in front of a lot of people.

Alex Wallace's Dolls Shoot

One of Alex's (AMAZING) test shoot photos

When we had our first ever online model search a few months ago, we had no idea what to expect.  We were thrilled when we had so many people enter, and even more so when we chose our winner, Alex Wallace.  This fresh faced 16 year old from Southern California, was everything we hoped our winner would be!  One part of her prize was a test shoot for her portfolio with Pulse Management's sister company, Dolls Model Management.

Alex's shoot took place in Hollywood over the weekend, and we have only seen a few of the pictures (one is posted above), but they have exceeded our high expectations for this girl. Famed fashion photographer Rodney Ray took Alex's pictures and Seth Dobie from Tinsel Tokyo Magazine was the videographer. We are thrilled that Alex is our winner, because we know that we will be able to do amazing things with this model's career, just wait and see!

Natalie Keyser for Grazia Mexico

Natalie Keyser is continuing her hot streak, and she is showing no signs of cooling off anytime soon! The above photos are from her recent editorial for Grazia Mexico. We keep saying it but the images we have seen of Natalie lately are some of the best that we've seen throughout her entire career, and we would know because we have managed her for her entire career.

We were touched earlier this week when Natalie wrote a personal message to Pulse Mgmt President, Stacey Eastman, on her Facebook.  Natalie said, "Stacey Eastman thank you for always being a great manager and friend towards me. Since 12 years of age you have taught me so many wonderful things. Thank you for praying for me and believing in me when I didn't believe in myself. Thank you for pushing me to be the best model I could be.  Because of you, I kept going. And I'm so glad I did."

We love all of our models, and we really pride ourselves in having a personal relationship with each one of them. When making decisions about what market to send them to, and which agencies to place them with in each market we truly consider all aspects of our models lives and careers.  We think this is the unique advantage we offer to our models.  Thank you for your kind words Natalie, we couldn't love you anymore!

Carson for Christian Dior

Carson Bruner is making us so proud in these behind the scenes pictures from her shoot with Dior!  If you aren't familiar with the House of Dior, please click here, so you can understand the magnitude of this shoot.  Carson has been in Paris for a couple of weeks, and so far so good! We can't wait to see the final product from this shoot, because in our opinion Carson and Dior are going to be an incredible combination.

MAJOR MOMENT MONDAY: Hye Rim Park for Tiffany and Co.

Today's MAJOR MOMENT MONDAY took place in the Fall/Winter fashion season of 2008.  At that time Pulse Management discovery Hye Rim Park, was breaking into the business in a major way.  There we not many (if any) major Asian models at the time, and Hye was in the process of changing that.  When she was in this advertisement campaign for Tiffany and Co. alongside already established supermodels Shalom Harlow, Liya Kebede, and Sasha Pivovarova it was a major moment in both her modeling career and our management career. We are getting goosebumps all over again just thinking about it.  We love being the people that introduce models to the fashion industry, and it is so rewarding when they make it big!
