MAJOR MOMENT MONDAY: Liz Kennedy for ODDA Magazine

We can't get enough of Liz Kennedy in this editorial for ODDA Magazine.  The editorial is titled "This Woman's Work" and it showcases looks from the 2015 Womenswear Collections. In my opinion this editorial is successful because the photographer, Jacob Sadrak, kept the set simple so the clothing and Liz are the real standouts.  Sometimes the photos that look simple are the hardest to shoot successfully because you can't hide lack of talent behind gimmicks and props.  The pictures have to be staged and lit well, and the model has to be confident and comfortable enough to use just herself to showcase the clothing.  Liz has really come so far since we discovered her, and we are so proud to see the images she is turning out these days, because she is becoming an insanely talented model.

Andy Blunt

Most of you know us as model management, but we also manage action sports athletes.  Action sports are a passion of Pulse Management President, Stacey Eastman.  Where Stacey exceeds is finding crossover opportunities for the athletes within the fashion world.  One example of this is when we booked Andy Blunt, who we represented for a few different action sports, a campaign with Abercrombie and Fitch.  This is where we differ from regular model or sports management.  We exist and thrive in both markets.  We recently got the following message from Andy, and were so touched that we had to share it with you all.

"Stacey Eastman has run Pulse Management for years.  He got me the Abercrombie job back in college and quickly became a good friend.  He didn't get me the booking by sending me out on a million auditions or just sending my info out (though he can and does send his talents' info out to all of the important contacts).  He knew how to get me in front of the decision makers and got it done.   Since then Pulse has grown immensely.  Stacey is big-time and connected to all the right people to grow his talents' careers properly.  More important than any of that is that Stacey is a good man and great guy.  He's a father and family man, active LDS and all around is one to do the right thing be it with his talent or family and friends.  He is stand-up.  When I modeled he took care of me like an older brother would and looked out for my best interests.   He handles high-fashion models as well as action sports athletes.  In fact he represents a couple of good surfers.  He has family ties to San Diego and is a surfer, snowboarder and kiteborder.  He gets San Diego and those of us that grew up there and will get you and your boys immediately and knows the surf industry..." - Andy Blunt

TBT: Polaroids of Sophia Skloss

It has been a while since we posted our last Throwback Thursday, and we think the time has come for a new one.  These are our model Sophia Skloss' polaroids from right around when we scouted her. Corey Scott for Kingsley Rowe

Do you all remember Corey Scott?  I bet if you saw these posts, you do.  Anyway, Corey's images from the Kingsley Rowe campaign are out, and they look fantastic.  I mean, if you didn't already want a pair of glasses seeing them on Corey will probably change your tune. We have some new test shoot pics of Corey that we will share with you soon, but in the meantime enjoy these beauties. 

Modeling's New It Boy, Lucky Blue Smith

Let us start off this post by clarifying that we do not represent Lucky Blue Smith.  We have been keeping an eye on his career, as has the rest of the fashion industry along with about a half a million girls around the world.  What we know of Lucky Blue we love!  He is a teenager, who is close with his family (they all moved from their home in Utah to a 2 bedroom apartment in Los Angeles to be together while the kids started their modeling careers), and is committed to his religion.  These are the kinds of models the industry needs more of! We never try to deny that the fashion industry can be a precarious one, to say the least.   We try to have a positive impact on the models we work with, and the industry in general. It is always nice to see that there are other people in the industry that have values and morals that they will heed to regardless of what the industry's norm may be.

Pulse Management Scout, Tamara Muth King, is also an incredible photographer.  She took the below pictures of Lucky Blue for one of his very first test shoots.  Tamara captured what the rest of the industry is seeing, a true superstar.  We couldn't be happier to have Tamara scouting for us, because she has an incredible eye.  If only she was our scout when she first shot Lucky Blue! 

Pulse Management's Mother's Day Tribute

We can't emphasize enough how much we value and appreciate mothers.  Not only in the home but their contributions to society are too big to be measured.  The Pulse Management team is made up of a lot of mothers, and we know how fiercely protective mothers are of their children.  This is why we take our jobs so seriously as model managers, because we know we are dealing with someone else's son or daughter.  Many of our scouts are mothers, along with our Chief Operating Officer, and our Head of Public Relations, and we hope they all had a happy Mother's Day.

We also love and admire our models' moms!  We have seen mothers drop everything, time and time again, to hop on a flight with their child for a photo shoot or runway show.  These mothers are their model's biggest cheerleaders and biggest supporters and we love them for it.

Happy Birthday Lacey!

Yes, it's a friday night, and I am blogging.  Why?  Because we can't let one more second go by without wishing Lacey Hevern a Happy Happy (belated) birthday.  Lacey is currently one of our very best scouts, she has an eye for models that is incomparable.  She started with Pulse as a model, she is currently a scout, but really she is family.  She is beautiful, loving, loyal, and she is as funny as they come.  We love you Lacey, and we can't wait to see what this year has in store for you!

We're All About Larisa!

In case you missed it, having a lifestyle blog is the thing to do, with Gwenyth Paltrow, Blake Lively, and Reese Witherspoon all launching their own sites.  We have to say that our model Larisa Fraser Braun's blog is our current favorite. She has a ton of healthy recipes, that are also not only delicious but they look beautiful too!  She also includes tips for clean eating and glimpses into her lovely life with her MLB star husband and sweet baby girl.  We think we are going to make THIS POST our new mantra for eating, and we need to start referring our models to it as well.  We love that Larisa is not necessarily about the numbers on the scale, but how to eat well to feel and look great.  That's our kind of girl.

We are so proud of Larisa, who we discovered in Utah, and then launched her modeling career.  She is an amazing mother and and incredible person who we are blessed to know and love.

NYFW: Liz Kennedy for Kye

During New York Fashion Week in February, our model, Liz Kennedy was a busy lady.  You can see some of the previous posts we did about Liz's fashion week here, here, here, and here.  There's more too, so to catch up on all things Liz, just click here.  Liz walked in the Kye show, and she even sent us a behind the scenes selfie.  We love when our models do that, because it shows us that even though they are walking the world's biggest runways, they are still just regular teenagers at heart.  February fashion week was huge for Liz, and get ready everyone because September fashion week will be even bigger for this beauty.

Christian Sereika's New Commercial

We are loving our boy Christian Sereika, in this commercial for United Healthcare.  Christian is one of our Pulse Management Action Sports athletes, and who we have been managing for years.  We found him when he was just a teenager in Utah, and now he's living in LA and landing commercials like this one.  Congrats Christian, we have a feeling you are just getting started.

Mario Testino on My Mind

Were you all swooning over last nights Met Gala pics?  If not check out some amazing red carpet coverage here.  While I was looking through Vogue's instagram coverage of the event, I loved that they had famed fashion photographer Mario Testino take over their insta for the night.  It was so interesting getting an insider's point of view into one of fashion's biggest nights of the year.

After I poured over Met Gala photos for longer than I'd like to admit, I started wondering what models of ours have been captured by Testino's expert eye.  I came across these pictures of Hye Rim Park from an editorial in Vogue Paris.  It amazes me that Hye, who we discovered in Utah, is in this editorial for Vogue Paris, with major models like Jessica Stam, Liya Kebede, Hilary Rhoda, and Behati Prinsloo. The fact that Hye was in this Vogue editorial, alongside these major models, and photographed by Mario Testino, is proof that it doesn't matter where you are discovered, if you are developed and managed properly, the sky is the limit.

MAJOR MOMENT MONDAY: Alisha Judge for VOGUE

I have been looking forward to today all weekend long, because I get to share a really MAJOR, Major Moment Monday with you all.  Our model Alisha Judge was just featured in a Vogue story.   Yes, that Vogue.  It doesn't get much bigger for a model, and we are so proud that she has now joined the ranks of our models who have posed for the magazine.  

This photo of Alisha was featured in Vogue's The 10 Best Dresses from the Spring 2016 Bridal Collections.  She is wearing a stunning design from Angel Sanchez, and we can't think of a better model for such a beautiful dress.

Congrats Alisha, this is big.  Vogue big.
